The NIGHTMARE of second hand beds!

Freshers, we’re about to lay out why purchasing a second hand bed will be the worst decision you’ll make this year…

It’s Oct/Nov and you’re in the middle of exams somewhere in NZ. Graduating students begin selling their beds through FB or Trade Me for anywhere between $100 - $400. Looks like a steal… Here’s exactly why it’s not;

1. You have no transport

How are you going to pick this bed up? You don’t have a car let alone a trailer. Sure borrow your mates car for a box of beers but this is only the beginning of the admin which stares you in the face.

2. You’ve got no where to store it?

Landlord will not, I repeat; LANDLORDS WILL NOT LET YOU STORE ANYTHING IN YOUR FLAT OVER SUMMER if you don’t already hold the lease. So what? “I’ll find a locker to store it in.” Quick math, $25/week over a three month summer = $300…

3. It’s second hand...

You don’t want to know what’s gone on in that bed before you’ve got your hands on it. What’s more is that after sitting in a storage locker for three months, there’s bound to be a few bad smells coming from it (if there wasn’t already…)

4. YOU DON’T HAVE TIME!

For goodness sake, you’re in the middle of exams and as stressed as ever. It’s pressure on your shoulders that you really don’t need.

We’ve seen it time and time again, students complaining about the pressure, the admin, the smell. DON’T FALL INTO THE TRAP OF GOING SECOND HAND. Find out why The FlatPack Co. is throwing all this admin out the back window.
